He is loved by teachers and students, who have on many occasions, lavished him with praises and presented him with awards. As a principal, he ensures that students have everything they need to excel and achieve their dreams. He has championed many new ideas that have helped the school produce excellent students, making them one of the best in Florida.

For example, he made sure Archbishop McCarthy is one of the first schools in South Florida to initiate a 1:1 iPad Program for all students and teachers. This makes it possible for them to be leading the way in incorporating technology in the school curriculum.

Richard P Jean is also a lover of sports. Over the past years, he has provided the school with additional sporting facilities, which made it possible for them to participate in many competitions, with laurels to show for it.
